How can I tell if my engine is gone (954)

Well last night one of my buddies was driving our Stunt bike( bought real cheap so we can learn to stunt) well he decided to rev it up and reved for about 5 secs while hitting the rev limiter. When we turn the bike on it sounds like it has a exhuast leak but when you get close the engine it sounds like its the head or something. Is there a way that I can Find out?

.....if your in a wheelie, it's sorta cool, cause your letting the crowd know that the bike is just coasting instead of the actual motor taking you through the wheelie.

Buuuut, if your just on two wheels, then it just makes you look like a squid......

like when coasting, but even then hitting the rev limiter seems to be overkill

Bouncing off the rev limiter will usually cause a valve problem. I bet it is a bent stem.

That's Honda for you.

J/K. If you bounce off the rev limiter on any bike, you will be stranded, guaranteed.

An unloaded rev on any engine does nothing but hurt it... causes the lower bearings to heat up on the rods more then normal and can cause spinning or a knock. See if you can isolate the rod by disabling one ignition at a time. U can also be looking at a Tchain prob(im assuming its harmonical.)

Sounds liike you probably bent a valve / dropped a valve.
An easy way to find out would be to run a compression test.
Pull the tank, air box, coil packs and plugs and screw the tester in fully.
Hold the throttle wide open and turn the engine over 5-8 times or until the needle stops moving.

You'd like to see a minimum of 125 psi. in each cylinder.
If you've got a bent valve there will be a lot less compression in that cylinder.

I've got a good 954 head here if you need one.

BTW, If you bring it by I'll listen to it and give you my opinion, no charge.
