CLOSED TRACK!

OK YEA ON THE CLOSED TRACK TODAY, THE APRILIA WAS NOT PEGGED JUST HAD HER CRUSEING ABOUT 140 OR SO

RPM WAS I AM GUESSING 8800 OR SO , I JUST REMEMBER MY LIGHT FLASHING , SO I KNOW IT WAS OVER 8000RPM

THANKS FOR THE TID BIT OF INFO ON THE APRILIA!

FROM READING OTHER POST ON THE AF1 FORUM, THEY DO A FRONT SPROCKET SWAP OFF OF A FALCO,

FALCO GEARING 41-16
MILLE GERAING 42-16 ,

ANY WAYS THANKS !

NOW LAWS WERE BROKE DOING THESE TESTS!

The answer is no, unless the speed sensor is on the front wheel, which I believe it is not.

Aprilia uses the mounting bolts off the rear sprocket for their speed sensor.

Thus, gearing changes do not affect the accuracy of the speedometer.
Tire size has a minimal effect unless you are running that Dunlop 195/65.

Most Aprilia speedos are accurate to +/- 2mph as verified via GPS regardless of speed.

And they are also geared too tall from the factory. Milles and Falco both arrive with 16 tooth countershaft sprockets in the USA. The preferred gearing is usually: 15 front and 41-43 on the rear depending upon how wheelie prone you wish your bike to be.
