See, thats what I think too. All it takes is one redneck to open his door to spit and you are fugged. And you know it would be your fault.

All it takes is one person to pull into the emergency lane, someon to open a door that side, hit some debris & wipe out etc... and it would still be your fault.

The caveat.. is it is expressly illegal to drive in the emergency lane.

thanks someone to agree with me ... i think they should make two red lines on the left side for us to use during traffic ... its to easy for someone to try to get over and bump you .. you have no room to manuevor because you have a car right next to you on both sides .. ill take the shoulder any day

it illegal to split lanes to ... i dont think its a bad thing if you going no more than 10 mph on the shoudler ... i think people would respect that more than lane splitting ... plus like i said in my last post you have more room to manuevor

I still want to know what you think of racerx's point, my car doesnt have AC right now and that gets a lot hotter inside with a big V8 in front of you than it does on your bike, can I use the shoulder?

go find the legal code in regards to it, versus driving on the shoulder.

On the shoulder, your easily potentialy putting more people than yourself at risk, between cars... its more your than theirs. Further.. think, is someone more likely to 'try' to bump you when they have to worry about impacting the other car etc to their left...or clear air/space to the right?

The reality and simple fact...under current law, sit your down and wait like everyone else.

they will hate you more for the e-lane.
LaneSplitting is not illegal in Texas.
Riding(driving) in the emergency lane without an emergency is, and dangerous.
