Do yall still run fans on your bikes. I think it is not needed on a race bike. And do yall have any other parts taken off sence they are not needed. Someone posted harnes with all unnecessary plugs and wires removed. I would think you guys would not be running batteries either?

Honestly, most, if not all, on this board aren't fast enough to worry about the few grams saved by taking the electric fan off. Also, without the fan you have pay very close attention to the temp of you bike as not to over heat it especially with the temps here in Texas.

Bump starting a 600 or bigger isn't fun. Therefore SS and SB bike almost always have the batteries left in them.

I don't run a fan on my bike, it's not needed. Flows better air (in theory) without it (air gets to the engine).

I took all the electrical out that's not used too, just unplugged them where ever they come in/ out.

Total loss systems (no battery, lightened flywheel) are a huge improvement, but a big headache. A buddy of mine runs a total loss system and it motors along real well.

It's not done for weight saving (well, the total loss system is), it's done for lots of other reasons though ( ).

Running stock engines with stock wiring and other stuff is juuuust fine for track day bikes and most racers.

I ride the street and dont run a fan, just because my tabs broke on the radiator. So it is zip tied to the frame for now. That fan is heavy, I think it might be heavier than the whole radiator. I hpoe I dont get stuck in traffic.

Total loss systems sounds like it would make a noticable difference.

For a street bike I would keep the fan for sure. Don't eff with the heat, especially when there is so much stop and go.

Total loss systems make a pretty noticeable difference, but again, a bad idea for the street.

You know you're not being fair, Jody. If you had Pazzo levers like the rest of these people, you could go slower, too. laugh
