MY NEW "TO ME" BIKE!!

Ever since I decided to get rid of the Aprilia motard I have struggled with what bike to get next. I like to be different. The motard had awesome power for a bike that weighed 290 lbs wet. I looked at all sorts of stuff but nothing really did it for me until a link to an e-bay auction was posted up on the Aprilia forum.

I just went and gave the seller a deposit, I'll call my bank tomorrow and take care of the rest.

and the new bike is.......

12k miles. I could never afford a low(er) mileage r7.

When I bought my first bike there was an R7 in the showroom for 35K. I've been curious about them ever since. The guy I bought it from has the most awesome R1 I've ever seen. Both his r1 and r7 were on display at laguna seca. is r1 won best something something award getting him free vip tickets to all sort of . Super nice guy and a Chief in the Navy (I'm a Chief in the CG).

Take any pics of the R1 while you were there? How's finding parts on those, are a lot of them interchangeable with R6 parts?

Nothing in interchangeable with the r6. I'm sure parts are very difficult to find. I'll take some pics of his r1 when i pick up the r7. if you go to youtube and search yzf-r7 you will see video of the two bikes together. Pay close attention to the details on the r1, wheels, suspension, brakes, dash, cf bodywork, all sorts of goodies and absolutely spotless.

I didn't mean between the R7 and the R1/R6. He was asking about the R1 to R6. Some of that stuff does, depending on year and such. Sorry to hijack! It's a sweet bike man!

OH, i failed to mention one thing. This one has the stage one race kit installed! Stock the bike has about 107 hp. With the airbox, new throttle cables (stock ones have throttle stops), and an ecu mod that activates the secondary set of injectors it puts down 135+
Throw in one of the finest street legal chassis you may ever find i.e. identical to the superbike chassi and WOW!

gotcha, i was wondering what could be swapped back and forth....
