you shouldn't have to scoot the bars down at all, the actual triple tree mount on the zx10 doesn't mount where the clip on mounts, it bolts to the upper tree itself.

I will ask the seller ASAP! What I mean is it goes between the tree and clip on. That why if you look at the zx10 the clip-on is a littler further down on the fork.

Oh, maybe I am just looking at something wrong. Thanks. And I was thinking about it, Ohlins probably can't help cause there is probably a different damper for the zx6r. It's worth a shot though.

the dampers are fairly universal, but the correct mount kit may cost you upwards of 150 bucks.....

yea the damper if diff (witch i dont think it is ) would only be longer or shorter!

what you can do is look on the web and find a kit for your bike and one for the zx10 and see if the damper is the same !

and yes ohlins should have a kit for you !

even if it cost 150 bucks that is a steal , compaired to buying the damper too!

yeah that's true. It's just I notice other ohlins damper have a bracket that goes over the whole damper (notice how on the zx10 damper has a hole already there in the center for it to mount to) it's hard to describe.

you could get some aluminum round stock or s.s. and drill a hole threw it, make sure it fits the brg on the damper well, and then buy a new longer bolt and then use the other hard wear you have?

Either way I highly suggest calling them in the morning. Even if it is on there, if it is not mounted right you may not get the full effect of the damper. You can call them in the morning when they open. I have called them before and they were very helpful and can tell you exactly what you need to get or what you need to do to get it working.

there is not a mounting kit to fit the zx-10r damper onto the zx-6r. the only mount ohlins makes for the zx-6r is for a clamp style mounted damper. the dampers that have the mounting hole on the body only come on oem applications are are not compatible with the universal R&T dampers.

whatever you do, DO NOT use a washer or spacer to mount it to your single tank bolt. it won't be anywhere near strong enough to properly mount the damper and it will destroy your tank when it breaks. the mount HAS to have a very solid mounting point on both ends. you don't have a solid point on either. on the zx-10r's there is a small tab coming off the upper triple tree where you mount the damper rod, the zx-6r doesn't have this either.

oh, and you don't have any mounting points on the lower triple tree either, so don't bother looking there.

sorry to dissappoint you.
