stretching/pre ride warm up?

everytime i go ride ive been getting some serious cramps in my left hip. (yea, HAHA, your midol joke is very funny ...NOT so save it!) IT HURTS! OUCH!

it hurts like on the outside of my asscheek, the front of the hip and the hamstring. and its basicly just on the left side. after riding for a bit it goes away or its not as bad, but maybe it just goes numb...then it hurts afterwards too, like later in the day.

im 27, so im no old fogey, but not as flexible as i used to be either. wondering if anyone else has this problem, and how they deal with it? im thinking some kind of stretching routine would be good, but i never paid attention in P.E. class so im SOL on what to do. any tips?

it may also be the way you are sitting?
i know there are some nerve endings in your posterior that can be affected by that. please consult you physician before listening to advice on the internet.

update: i got my baby momma to show me some stretches. she helped me pick out the ones i really need.

, ive got it pretty bad.

we did this one stretch, and my foot started going numb....after like 5 seconds.... this is going to take alot of work!

pretty much i would just tough out the pain, except when it cramps *real* bad i think its dangerous, it is distracting... i know i need to be concentrating on the bike and whats around me, not my gimpy tendons and .

Red face

This problem will probably subside after you ride for a couple weeks. However If you are having a lot of numbness or tingling in your legs you should talk to your doctor about it. That CAN be a sign of neurological/circulatory problems. Not saying it is. One stretch that worked for me when I started riding I had BAD cramp in my Hip Flexor.

This is a good stretch.
This one is also good.
