So much to say that can just be reread in other threads.

First page: a 250 isn't a waste of money and not for fundamental bike skills. If more people started on these we would have less people going off in ditches or scared away from track days. As for the bike, I hadn't heard anyone coming out behind when reselling the bike.

Most people that ride the large cc bikes can't RIDE them... too much hype. Point taken- they dont respect the bikes and dont wear gear.

And yes, should have been a turbo busa with NOS

+1 That's my thinking. You can only twist the throttle so much on a 250. It will still bite you if you get out of hand to be sure. I think it has a lot to do with image more than anything.

On a side note. A friend of mines step son bought a brand new F4i a few years back and did not renew his insurance. The bike was stolen and he had to continue paying the note for 3 more yrs. As far as I know it was never recovered either. He should at least have full coverage on it. Too many guys go and buy a bike and don't even consider how much insurance and gear costs and they don't even make an effort to get their "M". It's like 2 steps forward 5 steps back, off to a bad start right off. Hope your friend acts responsibly, both financially and as a new rider and I wish him the best of luck.

Ultimate thread revival right here. But for the record, I bought my 09 back in 2010. Same exact scenario, first sport bike, took liability and got screwed by a dealer. Still have her to this day, never wrecked and have enjoyed every mile I have put on it.

So my first street bike was an 09 R6 raven and that was over 3 years ago. Still have my baby too. I'd take an 09 over an 08 anyday, you dont see as many black and gold ravens compared to the all black ravens from every other year.
