There's talk of Triumph applying to the AMA to homologate it for racing. The 675 cc would be allowable because it is a triple.
I'm not sure when they're coming out. Has anyone seen one in a dealership yet?

Will not be shipping till March according to the dealers around here and there is already a waiting list. I would like to have one of these in the garage when the market hopefully gets soft on them in a year or so.

Well I am highly impressed, happy and off coz this thing has just replaced my 650!!! I only bought my 05 Daytona 650 in March and 1 friggin year later they pull this out. I am by the way Brittish so I am VERY bias to Triumph! To answer some of your questions and confirm other statements here is what I think and know:

It will be released in March 06
Only 4000 are being made!
$9000 is the price range (give or take $100)
It boats 125 bhp on the worlds first 3 cylinder sports bike!! WOW
It's super slim
Triuimph will ALWAYS turn heads in America more than any - promise me I know!
Guys - this is the way of the future
As for after market - I'll be honost it took a while to find things when my 650 came out. In fact I couldn't find a can but 9 months later almost every major company can do something with it. Even Triumph developed a race can for it. So don't worry too much about that.

If you need more info call Brittish USA on College Avenue and 45 South.

Ahem... the Triumph 955i and Speed Triple are both 3 cylinders and are sport bikes. :icon_bigg

Super slim... it's so slim, the frame for the new 675 will actually fit completely inside the frame of your 650.

My apologies dear sir - I meant within the 600 class - do forgive my imperfections. I will admit I didn't think the 955 was a 3 cylinder though.

That's kind of what I'd figured... I threw it out there anyways.

BTW, this is from the Triumph site...

"And performance is intrinsic to the Daytona 955i's appeal. Its fuel-injected, three-cylinder engine packs a heavyweight 147bhp punch, which the benchmark chassis - that includes aluminium frame, fully adjustable suspension and powerful four-piston front brake calipers - intuitively contains."

Nice - how does the 955 compare to litre bikes? I actually don't like it very much. I chose the 650 over it. Mind you, I have a sneaking suspision 2007 will see a daytona 1050 that will be right up there.
