GSXR600 which pipe?

just bought a 2008 gsxr 600. ive been researching pipes. like the 07 it does have a catylitic converter. however all the slip ons available are after cat systems. so ill be buying a full system to get rid of the cat. thus far i have it narrowed down to either the two brothers shorty or the m4 gp style full systems. just wondering if anyone out there had any input on the matter. thanks so much!

the slip on for the 08 doesnt eliminate the cat. thats 10 pounds that im not eliminating, so in my eyes 1100 to shave 12 pounds is better than 600 to shave 2 plus more power all around

What will you be doing that you will need to shave this weight?

Not being negative just curious?

If you're not tracking that bike, leave the cat in there to retain mid range power for around town, and just get the slip on. My suggestion is Japan Yoshimura Tri-oval dual tips shortie.

i thought the power spread came from the valve before the cat? i could be wrong about that.

So you might save 8lbs and gain 5-8 hp(big might) on the top end?

Should of bought a liter bike for an extra 2k and gotten a ton more power

I'd spend my cash on a damper, revalving the front, and rebuilding the rear shock(i think those are rebuildable) for the same amount as a full system. + you will be able to notice the difference be it on the street or at the track.

Just my .02

i do appreciate your two cents for sure. my bike came stock with a damper the rear shock is adjustable. what do you mean by re valving the front? its handled like a dream at all speeds thus far. also this is my first sport bike so i didnt want to jump straight to the 1000. i do regret not getting the 750 however...
