I REMEMBER $2 packs....

I thought inflation was ~3% annually. Tobacco and oil industry have sure surpassed that #.

OK this is gonna show my age but I remember pack of cigs being $1.50 and my stepdad bitched about that, gas was .35 cents and a bag of m & m's or a hershey bar was .05 cents.

dang I'm old. I don't believe the pay scale has rose to match the cost of living.

I remember gas being like $1.19 when I first started driving...all i ever got was the super unleaded stuff. Now $1.69 would be a blessing.

HA I worked at a gas station about 10 years ago, and it was a BIG DEAL when gas went over $1 because we didn't have any "1." signs to put up!

1998, if I'm not mistaken, is when gas pushed over a dollar a gallon. Ahh, the good ole days.

I used to sell gas for .23/gal.
And I remember being in a Disco and refusing to buy smokes from the machine because they were a dollar. Reg price was around .50
