You are upset because the deal didn't go smoothly. Did you bother to read the title before you handed over your money? It's very simple to see who has the right to sell the bike. Whose fault is it really?

But don't feel like the Lone Ranger. There are plenty of others who buy and sell bikes on this forum without titles, contracts, or any understanding of what they are setting themselves up for and then they and moan because they can't get titles, insurance, whatever.

Some people need to use their heads for something besides a place to store their helmet or a hole to pour beer into.

That's the point I tried to make. If you saw the title was in the dealerships name, why in the world would you give an individual money for it? Only the named owner or someone with a power of attorney for the owner has the right to transfer ownership.
