I like to keep it under the "Go Directly to Jail" speeds. About 15 over is all I will usually do....

we do, but some sweepers are easily 100, so we just stay slower in the straights.

I dont do group rides and those few I have rode with have a good judgement too and have been around each other for years. Hence the reason for those being my riding partners. If someone does begin to play around some or act stupid the remaining riders just fall back and make a comment about it at the next intersection or stop.

My only group riding, and riding at all, is all trackday time now. I'm against the big group of riders who have several unknown riders mixed in. If you don't have a decent idea of how each and every person around you is going to act on the ride, then I think it's a good idea to skip that ride.

I think this speed ceiling idea is good, but figure it would work as well as the statement before the ride of "don't ride over your head" "or no stunting" as after the wheels begin to move all that is out the window...

I always have a speed limit for my rides, and usually go slower on the straights.

Ask most anyone that rides on my "fun" rides and they'll tell you we spend most of the day at 70-80, but never touch the brakes.

It may vary for different parts of the rides based on roads, but we always set one.

I always thought it was much more enjoyable to ride with friends as opposed to only seeing them at the occasional stop sign.

And one of the big causes of the offroad excursions on big rides is the accordion effect of too fast on the straight and too slow on the corners.

My friends and I have never used speed cielings. If a couple get ahead, they eventually slow down or stop to let the others catch up if there is a turn/exit ahead.

It was an example Bill. Do you still get a rush goin 140+ on the street?

Straight roads bore me going 80 or 150.
