Track Documentary~Seeking Input

We're returning to the track again this weekend to gather more footage for the documentary. Since this is one of those "by the people for the people" things , I'd like input from everyone--both noob and experienced.
  • What burning questions would you like to see a professional answer?
  • What about the track are you most curious about? Operations? The racers? The bikes? Give specific details if possible.
  • What would you expect to see in a documentary about the track?

I've tossed some general questions out there, but feel free to suggest anything you feel is related. Nothing's too trivial.

Ya'll should do a segment on cornerworking and the duties involved. Don't forget to mention how hot it gets out there

I know it's a very general topic but I'd like to see info on the operations part of it

that would be nice... And for the life of me, why do they stage by registration time before each CMRA race? Shouldnt it be by numbers so slower riders dont crowd the fast ones?

Being a techie; I'd like to see info on the lap timers etc...

Above all; I would be estatic to see the spirit of the competition but also the comradery(i really can't spell tonight) of the riders and the families there for support. that's what its all about.

everyone DOESN'T know this unless they have done it. Cornerworking gets hot man!

On the topic of hot, I'd like to see a little bit of the documentary focus on how the riders cope with the houston/dallas heat while dressed up in full leathers during the summer. Go to any track in august at lunch time and count how many riders are laying on their backs in the paddocks on the concrete with a wet cloth draped over their face to cool off. The heat gets brutal!

I don't know very much about track riding yet because i haven't rode a track but it certainly seems like these folks are suffering through the heat with pleasure for the most awesome hobby ever.

Just FYI, the CMRA grids on registration for the first race of the year, after that you are gridded on points. CCS grids on registration all of the time.

one thing I've always told my co-workers and something you might want to get (if you haven't already) is the amount of camaraderie there is in the pits.

Try and find someone who's a complete newb and get their impressions pre and post.

Talking to novice's (1st timers) before and after is a great idea.
Talking to people about why they do it might be interesting, because people who don't ride likely think we are all crazy, thrill seekers with a death wish.
Some of the technical stuff like why tire warmers are used, (without too much detail) the workings of suspension.
Maybe a segment on leathers, boots and helmets.

I'm not sure who the target audience is, so I'm not sure how much detail you want.

Target Audience is split--we're hoping to offer a general overview (why/how/who) for people who are very new or considering venturing out to the track, but I'd also like to include behind the scenes info that experienced trackies may only encounter once in a blue moon: angles such as operations...and even the leather-fix-it-lady (she's her own little world). The cameraderie is very important to me; I can't put my finger on how it'll manifest out there in a way that we can film, but I'll know it when I see it.
