so I'm sure they are coming out with the busa's now to try to catch some of the sport bikes that run...(I'm guessing its a high percent)
I've heard HPD is not allowed to go 20 over the speed limit in chases. Something about the liability insurance being too high to cover any incident above the speed limit. They probably wrecked too many vehicles or something. So it's not hard to outrun them. I absolutely don't encourage doing it, pull over and take your lumps. Now in the areas around Houston they can and will chase you down. That's probably why the officer thanked you for stopping.

I prefer to avoid felony evasion if at all possible, or risking my life for a ticket... but hey, who am I to judge... I guess if I had to be caught, it'd be cool to say they had to bring out the 'big guns' to take me down! LOL

So just because he is a crappy rider and rides stupidly over his head the runner gets a murder charge? What the heck are they buying the cops busa's for in the first place? I think it is stupid and a waste of tax payers money. I mean who are they going to stop with a bike. If it is a car they are just going to slam on their brakes and them boom no more cop or just plain run into them. If it is a bike its the best rider or the first one to run out of gas. Stupid idea. Stupid use of money.

He can still tuck behind that windscreen. Either way I would not chance it. He has the power to run down a good majority of the bikes on the road.

Looking at the pics, I like the frame sliders that attach to the passenger pegs. Never have seen any like that before. Could be custom made also.

It would make sense if he were a dedicated sportbike chaser. Still if someone wanted to try and out run him they would put themselves at considerable risk due to the high speeds and increased crash factor.

And charging the driver with the death of the cop in that case sounds like a little too much to me. But from that example it's just another reason not to run.

Your probably right on that one. I would want to get off more often to rest my creaky back I'm sure. But everyone would think you were a bad azz on the Busa.
