the fastest i've seen on mine was 185... but that was with 8% factory speedo error, with the speedo healer, the fastest i've seen is 170.... and that was all on a closed course

What you have done w ur bike? do you have an ETE of some sort? Or did you remove the sixth gear lockout switch? Gearing is an easy way to increase speed; but it will need some torque to get higher.

That goes for just about all the High performance bikes (Zx11/12/14 BlackbirdXX and Busa). It takes A LOT of power to reach 200 and every mph over it gets exponentially harder... Like comparing a 8sec bike to a 7sec in the 1/4.

It's because the Gen-I (1999-2000) bikes were unrestricted stock and ran 194ish mph BONESTOCK depending on the wind. With basic mods you can get them over 200mph if you have a long enough road but it's rare. No factory production Japanese bike has gone 200mph or over straight off the showroom floor NONE!

Also, it doesn't take 200rwhp to get 200mph but if you want to do it in 1-mile you'll need pretty close. It takes less power to go a true GPS 200mph but it will take you a couple miles to get it to pull max speed because of wind/drag/aero,etc..

Then starting in 2001-present they were all restricted to 186mph/300kph because of some countries saying they will outlaw importing them. How they came up with that speed as the safety net, who knows...

Since then everyone has called it the fastest bike because no bike has surpassed that speed. Some day but not yet. So when unrestricted all of them even today, the BUSA is still the fastest...

As far as cc...
99-07 BUSA 1299cc
08+ BUSA 1340cc
06-08 ZX14 1352cc

As much as people hate the looks of the BUSA the aerodynamic design of it is what makes it prevail...

i did read earlier while doing some reserch that the with an 18-40 setup and a TRE with 3.5 miles, an otherwise stock busa could hit 200mph with 0 wind.... but you'd still need room to stop

I just moved back to Houston but if anyone knows any top speed testing areas in the area, I've got a GPS setup if anyone wants to see what they can do with your own bike.
