I was at work today and came across an article in today Houston paper. The article is about motorcycles and today traffic. I wish I could cut and paste the article but I'm entering this thread via my cell phone. If someone get a chance to paste a link it was on B1 in Thurs paper.

I love all the comments on that article....lots of good stuff and lots of morons. Makes me think that my next license should be a concealed carry though.

Yea that's the story... We as a whole (MH) family should try and get an awarness message together and get one of our big news channels to show it. Or something. Also as a whole we should go to these trials of the bastards that have taken a fellow rider. It seems that a lot of these murders are going with a slap on the wrist.

What bothers me about the moronic comments is that a good portion of them were coming from the motorcyclists.

What's the old saying? It's better to be quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it. Something like that?

^^^thats why we need to get a few knowledge-able people to speak/address these topics... Instead of having these reporters picking some avg kid to do the interview. I know I wouldn't be a good example to use for this story. There's enough members on MH that if we speak out we will be heard. The state needs to look into this cell phone laws like California did, signaling, and so on and so on. I know I don't want to die because of someone texting on the phone. Just my rant.

so the day came when the houston chronicle published something worthy to read... sort of.
After reading some of the comments, the apparent consensus among the community is that cell phone use while driving needs to be addressed by our representatives. If one sits aside a busy road[say westheimer] in any given day to quantify the amount of drivers that are on the cell phone as they pass by at 40mph, one would be surprised of the resultant figure after just very short time frame. trust me, I've done it.
if i was the city, I would be all over these drivers. That's a magnificent source of revenue that needs to be exploited!

takes about $14.00-$15.00 to fill mine up....$30 bux...that must suck, how many miles do you get to a tank in that thing?

I get a minimum of 140 miles to a tank, 160 if i drive good.

The picture is just showing the motorcycle lane project. Jk. So how do we make the "cagers" become more aware of the growing motorcycle population? We all heard of the commercial of watching twice for motorcycles. What other steps should we take. An awareness ride/bbq? And invite the media to ride with us and interview our senior members. Take the media to a track day?
