Jumper Mod for ZX-6R - yeah, it works

Hey I heard about this easy, free mod for my 07 zx-6r to unleash some extra ponies so I figured I'd give it a shot and see what happened.

Reports are that you'll gain 6 to 9 hp and all you have to do is install a jumper wire to connect two wires together under the seat.

This being that easy, flags automatically went off upstairs so I researched all over the net to find out the science behind it and to make sure that people are actually doing this without effing up their bike. Well all feedback was the same (positive) and the science is actually pretty simple; It switches the bike's ecu into european mode .

This is definitely the real deal, I did the mod in about 5 minutes and then went for a spin. Around 13k rpms the bike pulls way harder then before all the way until redline.

So people, if you have a ZX-6R and haven't done this mod yet, do it! Those that have done it, let's hear about it (hopefully positive).

Here is the best installation guide I could find: http://www.superstreetbike.com/featu...x6r/index.html

Hey nice bike

what other mods do you have? i noticed in that pic of your bike that your passenger pegs are removed. did you relocate the brake reservoir? did you have to buy a kit for that or was it a custom fab?

I have a power commander and yosh slip on. I moved it under the plastic by modifying the stock bracket, I also relocated the license plate and brake light.

I have a subscription to 5 different sportbike magazines, and when the kawi riders talk about mods, the JumperMod always comes up first.

isn't it only like 40 bucks??

Or you can do the air temp sensor mod to increase fuel if you don't have a power commander.
