His beacon works with most any timers.

My timer is permanently retarded after 2 crashes, so I'll be renting a timer from Pete... $12 a day is CHEAP for such a valuable tool.

Shush you! I could give a small flick of the wrist and be gone from that two-fiddy...but that probably wouldn't be too smart at my current skill (or lack thereof) level.

TIRES my friend, you need some tires. I would be very careful of asking too much of the ones you're running now. Find out what the 250 class in the CMRA is running on and get some! PM RoadandTrack, he runs one for mini endurance, he'll know what is cheap and sticky, or see if John has some street/track 'Stones.
Don't focus on times more than your comfort level. In other words if you scare yourself more than twice a lap, back off. Get a time towards the end of each day you ride. When you get closer to your target, then a timer every lap will be more helpful than hurtful. You can rent transponders at MSRH any day, check times between sessions and print out your laps at the end of the day. Didin't see you on pit lane for braking drills did I?(hint)

I was hoping you wouldn't notice ... but I've been practicing on my commutes... we'll see if it helps at the track.

That's it in a nutshell.
Let YOUR skill level thatYOU'REwilling to push determine lap times! Funner that way!

I run 1:34's but Ive only been twice so should be able to drop it with more time on that track which is pretty crummy surface, my weapon of choice is an R1 thats been worked over.

Not sure on your lap time...should have been right around 2 minutes. But you were looking more comfortable and body position and lines were much improved which is more important than your lap times!

+1

Considering 34's was about the track record I think until the CMRA races a few weeks back when Ty Howard dropped it to 32 something.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
