I'd save just a little extra and go with a Scorpion EXO-700. Race proven, great ventilation.

Yea I didn't see SNELL either. It's pretty safe to say that if no one has ever heard of them AND they aren't SNELL... they are junk. It's the same as buying one of those helmets I seen for sale at Walmart. Save your money and buy something that is well known, DOT and SNELL approved, and fits your melon properly.

+1 and they are DOT and SNELL approved, and if you want lights on it like the gmax I can install them, haven't tried making blinking ones though. http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=56804

Check crash test ratings...

DOT and SNELL prohameters are still very generic and low... Crash ratings from the highway patrol, cmra, etc are far more accurate.

Deals are deals, I understand but gear is the insurance you protect yourself with for the circumstances you dont forsee coming.

My AGV isnt well known and its not SNELL approved (its european so it passes the more strict BSI 6658 Type A though )

How could any of you like these helmets? Have you never worn an Arai, Suomy, Shoei? , this cheap Icon I have is better. So was the Scorpion. JUNK! I am tellin you man, from someone WHO HAS ACTUALLY WORN THIS HELMET AND HAVE OTHERS TO COMPARE IT TOO, DO NOT BUY.

These helmets are loud and heavy. The one I had...the visor would fly open when I checked back for traffic.

YOU ARE GETTING BAD ADVICE.

I have two of them and so far they are great helmets. My son has one also and 0 complaints. I bought them because I looked at them when he bought a new bike and they looked great. Fit and finish is as good as anyone else. Function and operation has been perfect. One of the big motorcycle gear magazines gave it helmet of the year award for 2007. There has never been a study that showed that any of the other Snell/DOT helmets gave any better protection. So if you don't have to have the best, most expensive what ever it is you buy. You'll like the GMax if it fits you. Tip: I have an oblong head and it fits me perfectly. Some other helmets like the don't fit me so well because they seem to fit round heads.

My visor will stay in position even when opened 1/8 inch when looking back. It doesn't feel heavy and it's not loud.

What makes it bad advice? That you had one and didn't like it? We have one and I like it. I've had a ton of different helmets(including Shoei's) and no, it's not a $700 helmet, but that doesn't mean it's bad. I've never ever had the visor fly open on me either, even at extreme speeds. Helmets fit differently on everyone, the only reason I'd ever say one is actually *better* than another is if it had better crash ratings, other than that it's all personal opinion.

Just because something is more expensive doesn't mean it's safer
