?? for trackside campers

ok so my generator got ripped off.
what are most of you guys running as far as track side power.
i mean my generator did the trick but it was way loud and now that im gonna replace it i would like to replace it with one of those "quite" ones i see on the track, someone told me they are called inverters not generators.
i need to be able to run A/C ,tv-Xbox and tire warmers all at the same time when the kids and wife come along.i bought another generator at Lowes that i plan to return BC it could not keep up,it was supposed to be rated at 5000 watts (30 AMP).

In my research, I've found a lot of people run 3000 Hondas (real Hondas, not just Honda motored). They are high dollar, but supposed to be really quiet and very capable.

EDIT: here's a link to the one I'm talking about... http://www.hondapowerequipment.com/p...lid=EU3000ISAN

Is that what you're using, Gryphin? If so, how does it handle overnight power? Do they power up on their own? I'm dumb when it comes to gens, so I'm curious.

and you can buy remote starts for these things.. so if you want to hide the thing somewhere locked up and just open the door for gas just make sure you keep the area its in vented so it doesnt get too hot.. and overheat or better yet, keep it outside but in a metal mesh cage locked up! vent and keeps it out of the way and safe

My bud and I have run his EU3k on several occasions all night long to run his toy hauler without any issues what-so-ever.

They are quiet and have more than enough power to run the toy hauler, all of it's electrical components (including A/C), plus tire warmers and fans!

yeah your going to need to get a generator, the inverter isnt going to run all that, plus you will need to have your car running so you dont drain your battery.

no no,what he showed me was a gas powered inverter
he explained it made power differently, not sure about all that.
i always thught inverter to be the ones you plug in to your cigarrete lighter to make 120V at low amperage..maybe the honda will be the ticket.

Yeah, there are some that are inverters, he's right. My limited education on them is that they create power differently than a traditional generator. The thing to focus on is the KW output, no matter if it's a generator or inverter, or even an alternator.

generators are like car amplifiers, the cheaper brands just don't put out the rated power they claim to.

hey tom, how much have u ran off that honda 3kw at once? roof a/c, frig, & tire warmers?

All that plus a fan , well, without the frig, it's gas powered.

When it's hot though, and the a/c is cranking 24/7 out there, it will trip the breaker.

how many sets of warmers did you have plugged in along with the a/c?
