Was truely a fantastic event
what a race, best for a long time and if you go back that far reminicent of the Shwantz/Rainey and Roberts/Spencer battles.

IMO the whole Stoner sportsman thing is being blown out of proportion.
He'd just lost a race in front of millions that he was the overwhelming favourite to win and the outcome was finally decided by his mistake (which he immediately fessed up to!).
He was , so what, he let off some steam and seemed pretty aimable up there on the rostrum with Rossi afterwards.
I dare say there may be a new edge to his steel next time they clash but jeez was his reaction that unexpected.

two very different riders remember, as somebody infinitely wiser than me said,
"Rossi loves winning, Stoner like Doohan and Rainey to a degree, hates losing"

I thought Hacking did brilliantly given his time on the "mediocre" Kawa.

Spies showed why he is deserving of a place in MotoGP.

Michelin should truely hang their heads in shame ,
This race gives argument for a one make tyre series.

Dovi was superb, again, top Michelin, top Honda, and on a semi-factory bike.

Did you see the rear facing camera shots of Rossi's back tyre, that thing really looked like it was tearing up to me but his lap times said different.

Vermulan was superb.

The podium girls were HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

Rossi is back, long live the King

Stoner has 4 weeks to brew on what Rossi said and his response. We will see what happens at Brno. Rossi was 1 sec slower there last year and finished 7 vs the top of the podium for Stoner.

As Alrova mentioned, they slapped JT's hand for rough passing.
But JT was making contact with folks- Rossi just made Stoner check up once... twice.... like six times and never touched him!

As for Brno and last year with Rossi- it was a tire issue that got him, and Bridgestone rocked that track. I think we'll see another great battle with Stoner at Brno!

Stoner got beat- pure and simple, and yeah, I was of the opinion that Stoner was going to walk away with it too. I didn't think that the Yamaha was going to go the distance against the Ducati either, and I knew that Stoner still had some tenths of a second on Rossi's best laps.

Stoner should watch his comments and actions to Rossi and not let him know that this stuff bothers him- he'll get the "Gibberchoke Curse" thrown on him!

An exciting and disappointing race at the same time. I was really sad that Edwards had such a bad weekend, and Hayden couldn't hold off VerMOLEn.

Attaboy to Dovi though, he rawked out there.

I agree Grinchy, Michelin should be hanging their heads in shame.

Agreed. Walking into dangerous territory their. Sounds like a Max & Sete way of thinking to me. You can't undo the race by talking about "dirty passes", but you can wash it out of your mouth with a good showing at the next one.

The race looked pretty clean to me. They both made aggresive moves, Rossi of course pulled some really freaky ones. Like the one into the corkscrew early on. But I don't think anything he did was out of line (no pun intended). I've seen Stoner pull very similar passes......it's a tight/technical track, of course passing is going to be close. Duh.......

So as long as he doesn't touch him is fine, even if that means that stoner or any other rider has to move out of the way to not get touched by Rossi, come on you are going to tell me that if casey didn't go wide rossi would't have touch him.

I don't hate Rossi, he is the best ever.

If he checked up, that means he saw Rossi, which means that Rossi was in position before Stoner could commit, which is a clean pass.

I think Stoner has every right to get bent up after making a mistake and tossing the bike, and yeah, he owned up to it- but actions and comments after the race are what the people see- and what I saw was Rossi coming up to talk to him, extending a hand, and getting a brush off from Stoner. Doesn't look good.

When Stoner tossed his bike, he was in too deep and too hot (seckshual analogy un-intended ) and would have effed up that corner anyway.

Rossi summed it up- "This is racing".
