the only thing i've read about so far is the high pitched wistling that comes from the tank when it gets really hot out. the pressure inside apparently makes this noise but it's not harmful. i can barely hear it. i've seen a couple of posts on the kawasaki forum about it. but other than that - nothing bad that i know of

Yes just 00-02 mainly for the body, the 98-99 have similar engine parts, but I would just stick with 00-02 to be safe and make sure its the zx6r and not the zx6. So far I've only put on a colored windscreen and frame sliders and both fit with no problem. I just ordered a bolt on exhaust, so I'll let you know how that works out. All parts were listed for the 00-02 zx6r.

Not that I can think of, like skmart said the fuel cap whistles sometimes from pressure but that's no biggie, the only thing with a carbed engine is that you have to warm it up before riding especially when it starts getting colder out.

solid bike. tested and proven tranny and engine. you should not be scared to pick up a used zzr and save a few bucks.
