I've used them for 7 or 8 years, and desperately need to get one for my half helmet. It's actually stronger than the webbing it's attached to, and makes putting the helmet on fast and easy. My only complaint is that it works itself loose and has to be readjusted every year or two. It's a bit of a to cram the metal bit through the loop, but it's worth it.

I know it makes it easy, but I wouldn't recommend it simply for it's failure potential in a crash.

Also, if you're doing track days or racing CMRA / CCS, your helmet won't pass tech if it has it on there.
