Guys and Girls-Needing advice on gear

I've narrowed my search for a jacket and have come up with this. Advice is welcomed.

You could do worse.
I have a Fieldsheer mesh jacket (couple years old) no problems with it. Decent armor, etc.

You might want to think about how the arms cinch down. Most mesh jackets have some sort of strap that tightens the arms.
Mine is just held with snaps but I think that a cinch strap (with buckles) would be better in a crash to prevent the sleeve from rolling so that the armor is out of place.
Fortunately I have'nt crash tested mine (yet) so maybe it doesn't really matter.

Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and bought the FieldSheer Jacket.

Read up on CE armour so you know the specifics for cleaning and impact properties. Not the same designed jackets as plastic molded supports etc.

As your riding evolves/u discover track or find interest in leather from seeing accidents etc u'll come to realize you collect gear quickly.

After rider skillz and awareness of the road, gear is the only insurance you carry with you... However much your life is worth to you is how much you should pay to protect your skin.

I'll eventually upgrade to Leather gear as soon as possible. Just wanted to get some protection so I'm not "Naked" per se. Anything will be better than the work shirt and blue jeans that I'm sporting at the moment. Next I want to look into riding boots and I'll be set for a little while.
