Should i repaint it a brighter pearl white with blue blue flakes in it, or should i just keep it stock since it's the original paint.
d....remember that painting the bike makes people think it's been down.

Maybe you mis-understood what I was asking.

Did you use two different tints of pearl? If you did, why?

If you painted basecoat/ clearcoat, you're confusing me with the "mid coat" thing. Do you mean that you used an intermediate clear with pearl and then used a different pearl in the base?

Just curious.

Wait until you lay it down, then paint it.

+1 on just doing the wheels white and throw in some red rim stripes.

Or use the money on some BST carbon rims! One of the best adders and most under-rated that you can do to your bike.

You did a lot of work to get the same effect with much easier processes. To each their own I guess.

So you started with a white base, mixed in your powder, then shot that, let it flash, then shot a liquid pearl (?) mixed in clearcoat? How did you get the liquid pearl? Did you just mix the powder with binder? Or are you saying you put a pearl basecoat in to the clearcoat?

I've been painting for quite a while and I guess I'm not following your process. If you wanted, you could just mix your pearl powders (both colors) with the basecoat white -or- you could mix both pearls with binder and shoot that on top of your white -or- you could have mixed both pearl powders in your first coat of clear on top of your white and then finished with straight clear (what most folks do).

Just trying to understand your process, I'm always open to alternative styles of painting.
