Question Two bikes?

Does anybody have two of the exact same bikes? Just wondering because I have a chance to buy another bike exactly like mine, red '02 R6 at a good deal. It's all the same, even down to the after market clip-ons, levers, and sprockets. I figure I could use one for the track, and one for the street, plus if one breaks, I got all the parts to always have a complete bike. Just wondering if this even sounds feasible. Lemme know pepes.

Sounds like a good thing to me. When you do maint. you have to get one type of plugs, filter, tire, etc.

If you can get another bike why not. Use one for track and one for the street.

Might turn mine into a track bike in a couple years and buy a cruiser for the streets.

I wouldnt really do it unless you are planning on riding one (not both) until something goes wrong / breaks and using that one as parts for the other - smart thing would be to use the "new" one for thise one -> (registration reasons)

However if you use both you are pretty much garunteed to spend a lot more money on maint and if you have my luck will go through long periods of having to fix one bike or the other without having both running.

Soooo thats just my personal experience, you might have better luck though.

If you do get 2 of the same bikes. Make sure you get 2 totally different colors. That way you can decide what mood you are in. And maybe mod them a bit differently. I think that could be kind of fun.

Oh ya, I'll mod them differently, and my current one is the factory red/black/white R6 of that year; the new one is all custum fairings and graphics and logo's. They're both red and black though.

I would definitely change the color of one of them then. Just to have some variety.

Make sure you go to a reputable shop though. I haven't painted my bike, but a friend got his done at some shop in SW side I believe. They didn't take off the old paint to paint on the new color. So when his bike got some paint chipped off, we saw the original color. Apparently they just painted over it.
