Tire change at TTD for TWS (Texas World Speedway)

I'm going to the trackday at TWS (Texas World Speedway) this weekend and bought new tires, the problem is mine are still ok for now but don't know how they'll do all day. Last trackday wore them down pretty good on the left side, probably about 50% on the side.

If I don't get them changed before then is there someone there that can mount and balance them and what do they charge to do it? do they take a long time, etc?

Thanks,
Kane

Good deal, that's what I was wanting to know. What's the going rate for a tire change at the track?

Thanks,
Kane

Surprisingly you might find the best tire deals buying from the guys at the track. Hand them your removed wheel and in a few min they hand you back a new one mounted and balanced for a good price.

That's always the case! Typically, with most guys, it's $10-$20 per wheel if they are off of the bike. Tires are much cheaper than at most all dealers

I try to have Kawijm with SCRC do my tires at the track, if i were you i'd go ahead and change in the morning, you don't want to crash b/c you should have changed tires earlier! so go ahead and do it before you set out on the track. a little time to change the tires is alot cheaper than a lot of time and money repairing a crashed up bike b/c of bad tires. most people can use almost up to 50% of a tire at TWS (Texas World Speedway) in a day so i wouldn't chance it.

I already have my tires so should I get them changed before I go or at the track? The only place in Nacogdoches that does it is the harley dealership and they want $40 each to change them but I don't want to wait all day to get my tires changed at the track, I don't mind missing a session. Is this usually the case or is it usually pretty quick?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to be informed.

Thanks,
Kane

i suggest you find out from kawijm if he is going to be there. if so, get there early and yank em off, have them tires waiting on him. if he isn't going to be there, either have harley do it or find another source that can take care of it for you.

I was just speaking from my own limited experience. Twice I’ve arrived at the normal time and got a new tire on with plenty of time for the first session. Once even after waiting for and failing tech.
Whatever you do check out their prices for next time and support the trackday people who support us.

Bridgestone John doesn't come to our track days So bring your tires with you and get Chad or Scott to change 'em out that morning!

Good tires are like good insurance... and you'll get the most out of your track day when you've got full confidence in your tires.

sup T!!

kawijm lives in Magnolia so it may not be too advantageous to do it at his house unless you have time. check with the T/D org. or one of there reps to see if there will be anyone there that can take care of you

Just FYI, I will not be vending at any TTD events this year. I WILL be at all of the LSTD events though. If you wish I can mount them here at my place in Magnolia for $10 a wheel, with the wheels removed from the bike. Yakes about 10-15 minutes.

Also, if you purchase tires from me, mount & balance is free. (with the wheels off of the bike).
