If you are going from an airbox to pods you will most likely have to go up on both the main and pilot jets, probably more on the mains than on the pilot jets. I had to go up about 3 sizes on the main and 1 or 2 sizes on the pilot jets on my 650. What size jets do you have in it now?

Is it a KZ1000? I don't recall a KZ 1100 unless maybe it is a GPz.

If you are not on kzrider.com you might check on there as well. There is a lot of good KZ knowledge on there.

Are you running the stock needles?
If so, start with 160 main jets, shim the needles and set the fuel screws between 3 to 3.5 turns out.

That should get you pretty close to start.
