f*********k sand!

So I was taking the bike around the block a couple of times to warm up the chain so I could lube it, and I decided to go wander around the neighborhood a little. I don't ever really turn at this street I turned on because it just goes in a circle around the inside of the block. Well I started turning right and there was an obstacle in the road, so I took the corner a little bit sharper than I would normally take a right turn. Of course, there had to be dirt/sand next to the curb, and i'll be damned if my front tire didn't slide about six inches before I caught traction again. There was a woman standing about 10 feet away from the curb watering her garden and I heard her go "OHHH!!!!" as the tire was sliding and my body moved all awkward-like to keep my balance.

Just another reason to gear up even if you're just going around the block to warm up your chain!!! (no I didn't drop the bike)

fkn sand... </rant>

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength-

Happened to me the other day out riding with some friends. One bad thing about living out here in the middle of nowhere... Lot's of dirt. I was pulling onto my buddy's street to meet up. Slowed down to take the turn, nice and slow, and the rear wheel was in dirt when i was almost straight. I'd given it a little gas, and out shot the back tire. Luckily I caught balance with my foot, but man I jammed it down hard. I love these Sidi boots, btw. lol
