I hear that the R6s is a spot on replica of the 2003 R6. I also hear that the R6s is a detuned 2003 R6. Which is it?

Can I go and buy a new 2003 R6 or not?

Britt

the 2006-current r6s is the exact same bike as the 2005 r6. I think the only difference they made in from 2003 to 2005 is that they used inverted forks on the '05 and up models.

Didn't know that.. thought it was an '03 clone. The R6 went to inverted forx in 2005, and the new R6s does not have them.

I just now realized they don't use the USD forks on the newer r6s models.. Maybe Yamaha didn't wanna waste money and use USD forks for their not so top of the line r6 anymore...

yzf600 laid back version of 600 sportbike, similar to r6s but not near as agressive

yzfr6 latest version of r6 sleek design + slipper clutch and redesigned suspesion

yzfr6s continuation of 2003-2005 yzfr6. still a great bike, i love mine. bit cheaper than the r6 and more comfortable IMO. found parts are a bit cheaper too since most 03-05 r6 parts are interchangeable with 06+ r6s.

I think the YZF 600 and R6 have the same engine, but the geared differently. And, the YZF 600 is about 450 pounds, where as the R6 is 357 pounds.
