seems to be alot of controversy about how the accident happened, any thoughts? since you know the area and the riders around it.

RIP bro, man that eats my heart out, cause it couldve been anyone of us out there. Motorcycle awareness needs to be taught in drivers ed or some other formal form of ed so we dont get ran over all the stinkin time.

830 is a road that dead ends into the lake...various side roads that lead to other major roads (FM 1097). Many bikers run that road and some flat fly down it. Speed limit is 55, I've seen them do over that. It looks inviting to go fast but many hills and now construction on it....several dump trucks pull out real slow.

There are no lights or stop signs on it

looks like someone in the comments is pretty certain they have seen him doing wheelies past the spot of the intersection in the last week. but nowhere does it say he was speeding or doing wheelies when the accident occured. actually, the way they described the dent sounds like the bike came to a stop in the front of the SUV and the rider probably went over the bars into the windshield or something to that effect. if he was doing a wheelie when hit head on by the SUV, that bike would have gone through the windshield and probably taken the driver of the cage out with it.

It was comming
We have seen this guy doing 90 mph and doing wheelies for the last couple of days in front of the subdivision and through our neighborhood. It was just a matter of time before this happened. Its unfortunate Mrs. Hatcher was the one. She should be charged with nothing. It's high time the county commissoner put a light at the entrance of Seven Coves, and speed bumps throughout the neighborhood. This is the 4th accident at the front of this subdivision this year!

Dont know the area, or how it happend... I pulled the map up and there looks like theres no center turn lane.(?) The auto could of turned or he could of turned in front of one another. The way it reads its the auto is at fault and they need to held accountable for there actions. It doesnt say anything about that.

Just re-read "when Angela Hatcher, who was westbound on FM 830, took a left turn onto Kingston Cove Lane "

map page:http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTEx...willis%2C%20tx

There is a turn lane!!! WTF How can you not see A HEADLIGHT COMING AT YOU!!

Head-on wreck kills Willis man

WILLIS — A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision with an SUV at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday on FM 830 near Willis.

Dustin Thomas, 21, of Willis, was driving his Honda sports bike eastbound on FM 830 when Angela Hatcher, who was westbound on FM 830, took a left turn onto Kingston Cove Lane and struck Thomas’ motorcycle head-on, according to police reports.

Hatcher, 32, of Willis, told state troopers she didn’t see Thomas’ motorcycle.

“He may have tried to swerve to go around her,” Trooper Landon Blum said.

Blum said there were several witnesses to the accident and added that some may have attempted to revive Thomas, but he was dead by the time Emergency Medical Services arrived.

“We know he was upright when they collided, and we think he was wearing a helmet because there was one here at the scene,” Blum said.

Hatcher may face anything from a citation to being charged with manslaughter, Blum said.

“It’s typically negligent homicide, but it takes several days to come to that conclusion,” he said.

Hatcher declined to comment.

The front end of the SUV bore a deep, smashed dent and cracked windshield.

The motorcycle was lying on the ground in a pool of motor oil, its frame twisted at the center. Its shattered body’s plastic and metal pieces spread in a radial pattern around the wreckage.

The slowly moving traffic being directed past the scene included three motorcyclists among the cars and trucks.
