Want to trade up.

So basically I want to replace my 250 with something more comfortable for the highway since my daily 100 mile commute is mostly on the HOV lanes.

I don't want a -to-the-wall SS bike, just something with more torque and passing power. Oh and it has to NOT VIBRATE my when going over 60mph.

So far I've done research on some Honda VFR's and BMW 650. What are some other Sport-touring like bikes out there that fit the criteria?

Also is it possible to find someone to trade + cash for something bigger or am I stuck with just selling mine?

I've had little sleep last night so pardon my incoherence.

doubt anybody is gonna trade "down" to a 250 unless they have a need, you could trade in, but you'll do better just selling outright.

the high prices for '08s have kept the prices high for older models, saw an '08 on C/L asking for $4600........yikes!

I ride a 06 Yamaha FZ6 to and from work, 70 miles a day. And I love it. You should be able to pick one up for 4k that is in good shape. Depends on how much you want to spend.

vfr if you want a sports tourer. smooth v-4 and good power without being scary fast. affordable too unlike BMW. bmws vibrate some as well.

speaking from recent experience with trading in a 250, i would hightly recomend that you sell your 250 and then move up. mine was super clean and i under sold myself. the day i traded it in for $2000, i received a call with an offer from an idividual offering me $3000 for it you will get more $$$ from an individual buyer than a trade/sell to a dealer.

as for the new bike, i went with a Kawasaki ZZR600. i ride to/from work most days and it is extremely comfortable for me and i feel little to no vibration at all. but, the only way to know what'll work for you is to start trying out different bikes and see what's more comfortable for you.

good luck

Its a 2005 with 24k miles on it. The only place I take it to is Motorcycles Unlimited and I have all the receipts for services. Its got a rare Yoshimura pipe and clear alternatives tails w/strobe. I would guess 2.2k as my price point on it.

I like FARKLE's. The SV650 seems about the same size as the ninja. Little space for anything. Naked bikes don't do much for me. But I think I'm going to look at the FZ

but a VFR is heavier than a busa... he is coming off a 250, one of the lightest bikes made.

where's the honda love? lol

cbr600's are nice. my f4i isn't ungodly powerful but will get up to speed as fast as I like it too. pretty comfortable, sits more upright than the gixxers at least.

a busa is a great street bike but I would never suggest it for someone coming off a 250.
