Anyone get one istalled from Patrick yet?

Also, Does LoJack Transmit a call or panic type device to the owner to notify them that their bike is being moved. (Like a alarm remote)?

i'd like to hear about it? are bikes usually stripped before the "beacon" is activated? do thieves know where they get located, since their's not alot of place to hide them on bikes?

??

lots of em

I would imagine it is easy for thieves to get the low down on things like this.
many years ago I did a small stint as a service advisor for chevrolet, a lot of stripped recovered vettes would come in with the front fenders cut in the correct spot and a small hole drilled by the key lock to access some wires to do whatever they wanted with the car. It was supposed to be hidden, but if the guys know how to disarm, its useless, as was the case with the earlier vettes I guess. It was just nothing to take if you knew how.

Well once agian i mean i would rather not just come out and say soemthings lol....Alot of wannabe thieves on this forum...

A few things it this....Yes you can hide it as long as you know what your doing. and Patrick knows whats up.

BUt you have to turn the system on so that means you have to find out your bike is gone then call the cops then they turn it on then they look around...
Yes thats pretty general but im not telling you somethings....

No lo-jack will not tell you if your bike has been moved. Until you already know.

PLus in all honesty think about it...YOu want your bike back corect i mean you could careless if the thief goes to jail as long as you get your bike back. BUt If the thief gets into a high speed chase with it becouase of lo-jack i dought you will be seeeing tht bike unless its in 1000 peices all over the ground...

Now you could get really lucky and i mean really lucky and find it sitting in a garage or something of that nature. BUt trust me if you new what i know about it thats probably not going to happen.

In my opinion i wouldnt drop a grand on it.

Is Lojack foolproof? No

Does it have a better than 90% recovery rate? Yes.

I've done quite a few installations, more than a few from this board, but, as I tell everyone, don't advertise you have Lojack, so the thieves won't know to look for it.

While it won't notify you if the bike is being jacked, (there are several excellent alarms on the market that will, Scorpio immediately comes to mind)
It will greatly improve your chances of getting your bike back if it is stolen.

Last time I checked Houston had a less then 30% recovery of stolen motorcycles without a Lojack system.

Hey, I heard that LoJack is going to produce an alarm remote similar to the Scorpion with the LoJack system. I'd like to be aware if someone if ****ing with my bike prior to walking out and finding that it's been stolen.

Anyone heard the same?

keep in mind you still have to rely on people.
HPD ran the plates on my truck 5 times including one time at a place where there was a shooting and did nothing.
Granted my truck didn't have Lo Jack, but i don't think that honestly would've made a difference.
They should make a lo jack that tells the vehicle owner where it is.
