Most sites do have a seperate section and it wouldn't hurt anything to have it. Maybe not even rider down/rip but something like Accidents/Injuries posts.

Well since you are not a mod anymore your opinion is just like an ahole everybody's got one.

I agree I think their should be a different forum for it unless it is a member here. Then post that still here. But for every other tom and harry rider a different forum. It is depressing to look at all those. Everybody knows it can happen why us all out thinking about it all the time. Sheesh.

EXACTLY because most of us don't care to read it. If its not a member here or a close riding partner of someone here, I don't care to read or hear about it. There is a million riders in Houston, now with the gas prices as they are, many people are riding more and more often.....Wrecks are gonna happen...I don't want to hear about every one of them.

Create a section for it, post all the wreck/downs there, then those that want to read about it can. Also as mentioned, if you have the New post option running, you will be notified that there is a fallen rider somewhere in Houston.

I don't necessarily think that posting up all of these wrecks and downs are gonna make anyone ride safer. Just going to make everyone more paranoid and nervous when they ride.....which half the time causes more wrecks... If you think about wrecking the entire time you are riding, you are bound to wreck......

....how ironic....

In the attempts to get all the "rider downs" and "wrecks" threads moved off of GD....my own thread got moved....LOL

Guess thats what I get.

Hopefully the rider down threads will follow suit.

ironic indeed. a thread asking the mods to do something are usually in the correct section and not in the moto discussion area.

we have discussed this before (may have been a few threads before you posted this in fact) and i think the general idea is that having a seperate forum will not be used, wont really benefit MH, and posts will still be made informing other riders of their accidents and deaths in the general discussion area where the most traffic is in.

Arturo, you are the only one that "caught" that.... The reason I posted in GD as opposed to Forum updates was because when I was looking at GD, there was at least 4 threads running at the same time about downed riders....I went to page 2 there was at least 2-3 more threads there. I was like....."Is anyone going to post anything OTHER then downed riders.....PARTICULARLY riders that are not members or even known by anyone here?

Like any time KPRC reports a bike wreck, someone feels the need to post here?

Not trying to show any disrespect to any members here that have gone down or gotten hurt...... Just trying to eliminate some of the BS I see everytime I open GD. Just thought I would throw it out there.

no one's forcing you to read the threads. even if they are in another forum, if they're popping up in the new posts listing, it's not going to be any different than how it is now. those threads will still clog up the new posts section, "preventing" those that don't want to read them from reading the posts they came to see.

you don't like it, don't read it. simple.

I agree. I think the only threads about rider down should be members here. Heck, why don't we just post all the crashes that happen all over the state heck the country. We need more carnage. Heck, after seeing all those maybe everybody will just sell their bike. After all if you ride you are going to DIE!!!!!!

True...it will still clog up the new posts section but lots of members don't even use it.....yet 98% of the members here go to General discussion(Moto-related) to check out the new bike threads....and I am sure most don't care to read about every rider in Houston that had a spill.

OH and I don't read most of the down rider threads unless there is a member's user name in the title. Just sucks that everytime you open GD, you have to search down through 5 wreck threads to find a MOTO-RELATED thread.... Seems to be getting worse and worse to...

It does get a little old. I'm pretty numb to hearing a rider has gone down. I talked to a guy the other day that was telling me about a friend of his that had gone down. In the back of my mind I was thinking " him and about 5 others". I would still see it due to the use of new post. I do agree with Alan though.

this happens almost every time the weather is good to ride. alot of new riders use MH as a place to meet new riders and maybe seeing that will keep them in check. when it gets cold and those people that dont usually ride in 40 degree weather stop riding, these posts will likely stop.

its kind of like saying its the season for accidents. wait 3 months and it will stop.

i hate getting seasonal allergies but i just deal with it and learn to avoid it.
