update on chron...

Quote:
A man died after crashing a motorcycle he borrowed while drinking at a friend's southwest Harris County home early today, the sheriff's department reported.

The accident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. in the 3500 block of Addicks Clodine Road, deputies said.

Joe Melchor Jr. was identified by friends who went looking for him and arrived at the scene of the crash after emergency workers were already there, deputies reported.

Lesson is: avoid riding/driving after spending hours and hours of drinking.

Oh, and don't 'lend' your bike to a drunk. What a MORON who let this guy take the keys. I wonder if he even had a license? Obviously, we don't have all the info, but unless it was stolen, there are more people at fault here than just the drunk rider...

I'm sorry folks - I feel bad for these guys, but more importantly, I'm angry at them for being so stupid, and most importantly relieved their stupidity didn't hurt any innocent people.

I'm making it a pledge that I won't be riding ever after having alcohol, even one drink. It's just not worth it.

I wonder if the owner actually gave the guy permission or the drunk just took the bike while the owner was asleep??

The helmet was about 10 yards in front of a tree that you could see he hit. It looked like he went onto the curb and the bike turned sideways and he hit the front end on the tree and the body and bike kept going. The tree was about 20 yards away from body and bike. The front end of the bike broke off at the forks and the front wheel and upper fairing pieces where by the tree. RIP
