LMS Boys on the podium (S)

Well hopefully today will serve to silence the haters and doubters and those indiviuals will be man enough to slide up to the table for a big ol' plate of crow.

Lots had been said on this forum as well as others that the CCS was not really a good judge of how fast the LMS boys and other local CCS racers really are, " they need to run with the big boys in CMRA" if I remeber the quote right. Well have a look at the results and try again to cast your BS. The grids were small, one of my races only had six riders, and the other less than 10. I had no points and never girdded past the third row. The novice races were a bit bigger, but small by CMRA standards.

The LMS boys of Derek Steptoe, Allan Campbell, Alonzo Canterras, Jason Hanning, Larry Meyers, and myself were all on the poduim today FROM THE BACK OF THE GRIDS. Alanzo's B superstock ride from last to fifth started our day off right and it only got better. Alanzo also got another fifth in the C superstock from last position. Derek Steptoe was equally amazing as he came from next to last to finish on the podium twice and would have had a third in F1 if not for a highside exitting the Diamond's Edge complex battling a R1 on his R6.(gotta get off the stones man!!) Jason got up to 8th in from dead last in his race too.

Allan Campbell was the man to beat in the novice classes he ran, again starting last in the second wave to finish frist in two races and second in a third. To say I am proud of these guys is an understatement. Felt like I was wathcing my kid race in each one.
All the novice instructors from LMS made fantastic use of thier home track and showed them CMRA fellas how we roll in Houston........fast mf......fast!!!

Larry Meyers ran some great races on a way underpowered GSXR600 to finish in the money in both of his Suzuki money races with a third and fifth. Not bad for a stocker upagainst some fo the fastest built motors around.
I had a great battle in F40 taking a third in the final lap. Smallest bike in the class thank you, and only got beat by two 1K's, while leaving the 750's. Great battle, one of the best I can remember as I really had to work on the guy for all 6 laps. Second race was F1 and I got a fifth which paid. I got my handed to me, which I knew was gonna happen going in, but didn't quit and one crasher put me up from last to a paid spot. A whopping 37.50.......

No doubt that with better grid positions or at least starting in the first wave,(everyone started from the second wave in the novice races!!) our boys would have swept the podiums today. I am VERY proud of all you guys for your performances today. I am also proud of you all for keeping on the up and up despite the BS posted here and else where. Today you let your talent speak volumes, you are all class acts and I am greatful to call you all friends. Good job, looking forward to TWS (Texas World Speedway) next week. Team LMS will do it all again!!!!!!

Congrats to all as well! I enjoyed being out to watch the races and seeing some familiar bikes up front.

How did Derek end up after the highside, anything serious?

Great Job LMS.

You guys represented yourself quite well at your home track. The Formula 40 race I watched with Buck and Allan was great racing and I saw 2 of the races that Derek was rolling in.
It is much more fun to race with 16-25 bikes vs. 5-6 isn't it?
