Squids in Rosenberg... ?!?!

For those newbs that don't know me, I'm PoPo... Thanks to all that asked about me and called me over the last few months... I hope to be back on two wheels soon... Now to my Question:
Are there any riders on the board that live or ride in Rosenberg? Thought it was a weird observation that MOST riders in the Berg are squids... I am amazed that coming from a place such as motohouston that promotes rider safety, that there is actually a place that seems to be a VOID of rider safety... Just curious since I really have never met the riders that I see helmet less... And if you are from there or ride there, PUT YOUR HELMETS ON!!! - PoPo

I think it might be due to the hot/humid summer weather we have...in the Sugar Land area, 50% of the SS riders I see wear T shirts, shorts and tennis shoes...some of 'em might wear a helmet, but no other riding protection.

As for me, I'm sweatin' my fat off wearing gear....but hey, whatever floats your boat. I could care less what other riders wear as long as it doesn't raise my ins. rates when/if they go down when riding with no or little protection on the streets....................

The Woodlands is pretty bad here too... Go on the freeway or the surrounding areas and people are gearing up... May be an inner community and heat index issue

I went to HS in Sugarland. Unless things have changed drastically in the interum years, richmond/rosenberg is pretend-a-ghetto. Thugs don't need gear, their street cred will protect them. Thats why they don't wear it

^ Oh yea you have...
Before I joined MH I didn't know what a jacket was for!
I've been riding for over 25 yrs. now and never ever used any gear unless the dirt track required it.
I bought my first jacket and street gloves a year and a half ago to join a group ride from another site and have been investing in gear ever since!
Some days I think there's no way I'm riding to Yankee's for a burger without gear, but then again I have a real hard time convincing myself to suit up for a local joy ride.

I hope that answers your question and yes I'm 13 miles from the Burg.
Take care and ride safe.

I live in Missouri City but own Orient Cafe off 359. We deliver to the jail and courthouse. We also get lots of Richmond Rosenberg police, swat, and judges that come to eat here. Let me know if you want to meet sometime or just come by the restaurant
