I ride in rain or pressure wash it to clean it when it gets really bad... And it is; there is no more shine to the marble paint; so much dirt I cant wipe it off w a finger...

No posing here unfortunately; im in the negative

If you want to head up to the BBQ joint and meet us for lunch, we should be there around 11:30.

Some may continue on from there; some will head back.

Meet at the Times Square Plaza on the 99 feeder. Exit 743 off I-10, go South on Grandparkway 99 (stay on feeder). 4/10th mile on right is Times Square Plaza.

Meet time is 9 am. We'll have a short meeting at 9 so don't be late.

Bring a full tank of gas, tires aired up, lunch money and wear your gear!

Man I will be out of town or I would not miss this opportunity! I salute the volunteers and texlurch for sharing their time and riding knowledge with the less experienced guys/gals. I rode in CaligoneTx's group last weekend and it was a nice, safe ride! I rode once in a group with texlurch and he was very helpful too. So if you are a noob or just need some seat time I recommend this ride. Wish I could go too!

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength-

2. nofear (official poser coach)
3. tiatool (shepherder/volunteer to share the abuse)
4. CaligoneTx (volunteer)
5. MaxGs (Curt, volunteer)
6. Chino (volunteer)
7. dvlracer (volunteer)
8. lisiecki1 (volunteer)
9. orion85 (volunteer)
10. Japawhat02(volunteer noob)

Basic plan of attack:

We will go over riding position, how to adjust your controls to fit you, the importance of suspension settings. Tiatool will address proper gear, and fit, being comfortable.

I plan to make sure everyone 100% understands countersteering and the importance. We'll get some practice on the short stretch of I-10.

Break down the corner into 3 parts, what to do in each part, where and how to look. No hanging off dragging knees, just street riding. Stress getting all the braking and gear changing done before the turn, smooth inputs on brakes and gas. We want to be on the gas not the brake entering the turn.

We'll address basic group ride rules, and minimum 2 second spacing at all times, single file in the corners, and road position and edge safety zones/no-mans land. Group will be lined up with a volunteer followed by a noob, alternating. That way the noob can watch and follow, and not worry about who is behind, and the helper behind can watch the noob in front to offer any help as required.

The first section has slow to mild turns and we'll be entering at the posted yellow turn speed. If anyone has a problem we will go slower. At no time will the group go over the posted speed limits. Also we will cater to the slowest noob and adjust our speed to suit.

The next section is a little faster and offers sweeping turns, which I plan to ride thru a couple times to reinforce the practice.

Next and last section are more open, and a little faster yet. Final goal for the day is to be able to roll the last section of road at the posted speed limit, without slowing down for the corner speeds or using brakes. We'll play that by ear.

And then lunch to go over and ask questions. Not sure when the Poser Points will be awarded; NoFear will have an eye on us thru out the day taking notes.

If anyone has questions or comments or problems with any of the above, please PM me.... this is a work in progress so it is evolving as we go.

Idea is to make it as easy and safe as possible. Low stress and fun is the key, and getting to know your bikes a little better. From here you should be able to go ride and play on your own, not feel left behind on group rides, and do the track days to get better.

Anyone have a centerstand so we can demonstrate ride position, counter steer etc while in the parking lot? Could do it on a kickstand but only to the left...

Hey Jim, does Times Square Plaza have a gas station? It's quite the hike for me to get there so I can either top off there or somewhere close by just before the meet time.
