Talking New to the Game

Well, where do i start......First, I would like to thank Havi @ True Methoz for passing on the site info and all the work he has and will do for me.

Second, I attended the July 4th Morning ride today and I must say that it was an experience like I had never had. I always wanted to ride with some other bikers but never knew it was like this. Love the welcome and friendly welcome given by all. The talk before the ride by tiatool, I must say SCARED the SH*t out of me. Later to find out that it all came true was a reality check. I love to go fast and tried my hand with group 1. It started out a little shakey due to the fact that they left some of us leaving the starting spot but when we all got together it was gr8. Group 1, I must say that you guy are NUTS....in a good way, very strong riders with safety in mind, I never felt pressured to keep up or felt like I would be left behind. And if all the things that did come true happened, I beleived that groups 2 & 3 would have been right there coming up if i felt like group 1 was too much.

To my fellow riders, esp. those that when down today. 1. To those that were not wearing safety gear (which before now, i must say that i have done this route b4 without a jacket (never again) always wear them); I am glad to know that you were able to walk away from your falls. As we were leaving we rode up on an accident that had taken place not too long ago, I saw some very (how to put this) Loyal, Special, Kind, True Friend (something) type stuff go on. A friend of a guy riding out with us stayed there while my friend (Demond) went home to get his truck for the guys bike. The rider who was down was alert and this guy with us stayed by his side til help arrived he would not leave and as far as I know it was someone whom he just rides with. I dont know about the rest of you; but this is this type of individuals that I want to ride with and become friends with. I dont know either of these guys, but i will get to know them and alot of others that were out there, you can bank on that.

Lastly, to MOTOHOUSTON and the 1s behind it all.......Thanks for giving those like me, a young rider at heart; a chance to feel what it is like to be apart of something only bikers know. I have only been riding for about 2 years at least i had the bike that long.....went down early at to recover and now i ride everytime i can; but i felt like todays event was enough to allow me to ride with others.

FYI dont post excessive speeds on the board. You will get flamed for it. Be safe

Wow, this thread would have been totally different had one of you in the "fast" group gone down today. There's no surviving on the streets at those speeds.

Glad you all made it home safe today, I can only hope you have the same outcome next time you try your hand at 150+ on public backroads.

Welcome to MH
