The Dragon Pixies Strike Again

Got this from the FZ10A forum...

http://www.yamahafz1oa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=84098

Quote:
Sunday evening, after PJ and I returned to Deal's Gap from Atlanta, we went on a night run. By the time we got to the overlook, it was pretty much dark-thirty. We chatted with the locals for a moment, then went down to Calderwood for a few minutes. When we returned to the overlook, all the locals had left.

As we were about to take off for the store, a guy on an R6 pulls up, followed by a nice older couple in a car who had a rider wearing gear with them. We immediately surmised that the rider had gone down. The gentleman in the car said it was near the 4 mile marker. Having worked that stretch of road during the spring clean up, and after hearing the rider's description of the corner, PJ and I determined that he had blown the "Catch All" corner and launched his 2007 R1 over the cliff as many riders have done before.

We all rode down to the scene of the crime, and after a quick evaluation, decided that it would be okay to leave the bike there overnight (the bike was a good 50 feet down the embankment and had a tree wedge in the rear). The guys would return the following day with their truck and trailer to retrieve the bike. The complication was that the guy on the R6 had left his girlfriend at the store, so he couldn't give his buddy (Alex) a ride back to Gatlinburg where they were staying. PJ and I offered him the bunk in our room.

After Alex went to bed, the oddest thing happened . . .
