remember folks, this is a liter bike. You don't have to wring it neck to get the juice on the street or track. It is so close in comparison that it comes down to looks and comfort. Both are ugly this year, I'll wait to see what Suzuki/Yamaha has to offer in a few of months.

The CBR is just dog ugly. While the ZX is no MV Agusta, it is still good looking. If I were you, I'd wait to see the new GSXR and R1, and if neither tickles your fancy, you could still find an 08 ZX at a better price.

the honda is lighter though so while on the dino the kawi looks faster the power to weight ratio of the honda would make it faster. the hondas wet weight is only 30lbs more than their 600!

but you could just buy both and i'll take whatever one you dont choose!

Agreed, but as far as looks go, I like both the CBR and the ZX. As for GSXR, I will never own one, just a personal preference. As for Yamaha, never cared for them, but if the bike looks like the drawings of the 09 I might consider waiting.

It seems like splitting hairs based on most reviews I have read. Kind of a 6 of one half dozen of the other.

Get a silver dollar and give it a good flip and call it in the air to see which bike to choose.

Another aspect to think of is price. I know that MSRP is very close on both, but when I got my bike it was down to an R6 or the ZX. I tried 3 Yamaha dealers and the best I could get was 10,600 OTD. I called 1 Kawi place (Kaw of Pasadena) and got 8,400 OTD. If they bike are a coin flip, go with the one you can get the best deal on.

I owned a Suzuki for 3 days, it was stolen. Plus everyone has one. Never owned a Yami, rode plenty of them, just never meshed well.

It would be hard to ride both before having a chance to buy them, so you're having to base your decision on peers (whom most don't have a clue) or mag tests (which are biased from $$$$ adv). I have sat on both at the moto show, and they felt pretty similar. The Honda felt lighter, and it's a lot skinnier than the 07. The Kwaker felt a lot smaller than the 06s I've ridden.

I'll definitely agree that if you're gonna use either for track, it would be a difficult decision. Because both will do more than most people can draw from them.
My nod goes to Honda, cuz that's what I've always liked.

Nobody wants an ugly bike. It's not the only factor in the decision, but it is a factor.

I'm sure you're such an awesome rider that you'd give Rossi more than he could handle, but these bikes are all so close in performance that the average rider won't be able to tell much of a difference. Therefore style and cost become legitamate factors. HTH

I'd have to agree. I wouldn't take Jody's comment too seriously anyways

You bought the wrong year model. The 05/06 RULES!!!

But back to the thread I would take the honda over the zx 10. I rode one and it felt pretty good not as good as my gixxer but better than a kawi.
