depends what you want and where ya go.

i cant really tell you, but im sure there might be some painters here who can. you might as well tell them what your thinking. i once was told its about $600 but that may not have been a credible source. a painter is probably gonna want to know:

do you want just one color? two - tone? extra details?

do you want decals, airbrushing, designs, special effects?

color changing paint, glowy paint?

gloss, flat, sparkle ? what?

are there any dents or dings you want filled in and painted over?

im sure these are the kind of questions they are gonna ask.

one thing i will warn you is be careful who you go to. my ex roommate tried to get a paint job from a friend of a friend who worked at a paint shop. he gave the guy all the plastics and the tank. the guy kept puttin it off, and 6 weeks later my roomie had to start threatening people to get his tank back so at least he could ride again. apparantly the guy thought it was no big deal and decided he would "get around to it" eventually. i would go to a pro to save yourself this kind of hassle.

what exactly do you want painted? One of my girlfriend got her whole bike (R6 raven) repainted to a gun metal - looks pretty cool. Don't know how much she paid for it. I know this guy that has a body shop. He said the cost of paint just went up. For one stage coat it cost about $750 includes them sanding it down and clear coat... or something like that (sorry, don't know all the process or the terminology). For multi stage or something like that.. it can cost up to $1000. Pretty pricie but i guess that's about right since a car can cost about $3k.

I paint my own bikes, always solid colors, Don't like multicolored bikes, That way I only spend in material, it's about 200 or alittle more depending in color/brand of paint.
