Doesn't sound too bad!

A lot of those parts look to be something that can be found used for a reasonable price.

I'd argue that depending on buy back it you could have sweet "new" 07 trackbike for far less than others out there trying to build one up from scratch with a new year model. The salvage title sale that Jet mentioned would only depend on how long you think you'd ride/own it as a track bike.

Can you race salvage title bikes in CMRA, CCS, etc.???

Seems in my opinion I would rather, have a new bike that is worth the money. But that is my assumption, not that I know anything just trying to make a educated guess.

But could you buy a 07 or build an 07 600rr into the same track bike for that price? Even at $5k it's a good bike still and has had it's first dings in it. Going with a new bike puts you right back at that "scared to drop it" stage. Not that it dissolves in this case, but it's minimized I would assume.

Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength-

Candie,
When I spoke to Tim I let him know that I can go over it with you guys when you all come by.

How's the collarbone ?

That sure sounds like a heck of alot to me, but then again I don't know half as much as ya'll do! So I will take your word for it!

Collar bone is healing ok! This whole staying still is for the birds! It gives me way to much time to think about my poor bike!

Thanks Patrick for all your help!!!

FWIW... SEVERAL people have used insurance for track-related claims with NO problems... read your policy, call your under-writer, etc. and you'll find that ins. co's. WILL cover track-day/school mishaps.
really? state farm will cover track day mishaps?

I was assuming its just like drag racing a car, if it happens at a drag track, i know they dont cover it....

I've had a few friends with cars that were totalled out by their insur. companies b/c the damage was deemed to be more than the car was worth. So, both of them took the payment minus what the insurance company charged them to buy the car back. In both cases, the title never changed hands and the cars were never considered/titled as salvaged.

So, with that said, you might be able to buy it back and not have anything recorded as 'salvaged' on the title.

Also, with that said, never just assume a clean title on a bike or car means the thing wasn't 'totalled' at one point in it's life. Carfax misses a LOT. , it hasn't shown the wrecks my previous 3 mustangs have had (from previous owners).

wish I had a motard / dual sport, it'll be next

question, if you buy it back does it still get the salvage title? or would they not even mess with getting it titled to them and then issue you a salvage?

That's what I was saying... the bike might not end up with a salvage title if she buys it back (i.e. she gets her settlement less the amount they "sell" it back to her for).
