Great ride Guys! I had a blast and look forward to more. Thanks Tiatool for setting it up. Also, thanks to all leaders and sweepers in all the groups assuring everyone had a safe and fun riding experience today. I personally believe your organization and leadership was top notch and I'm sure everyone who attended the ride agrees.

Again, great ride today, met a lot of good people and can't wait to make the next ride.

PS: The rain sucked on the way home, but made it in one piece.

Chase---- it was Rsxtogsxr56 whom got the flat; my good friend from the Woodlands area... Thanks for you two helping him out... Ur awesome.

As for everyone else, thanks for the input... I always enjoy riding w this group and it does a heart good to know the ride was satisfactory and people learned from our precident. Leaders and sweepers are chosen out of the regulars whom ride this route and we need your feedback to ensure we are doing our jobs properly to ensure your ride is adequate, safe and satisfactory.

Cant speak for the other groups but group three did great regardless of some 'reminders' of the reality of our passion. Reminder to lead riders in group three, when you feel like you are pressing me continuously, Im not gonna budge from the rules we established... May be time to consider the next group. Use your discretion. It is your own ride, we just provide some structure for safety. And if you find yourself slowing down in group 1 or 2, etc, there will always be a group behind you or the main sweeper.

We will not leave anyone behind in the group.

Leaders are human too, it's hard to study routes long enough to really have them down pat when the time comes! I took my school club on a group ride once up through Livingston and our 65 mile ride turned into a 115 mile ride with a stop for gas. Whoops

It was cool since, thankfully, nobody had anywhere they had to be but by the time we got back the guy on the dualsport said he was kinda worn out

Yeah, but by that time it was waaaaaay too late to try and change it up.

Plus it is sort of cool to have everyone rolling down the highway together, if only for a few miles.

If they decide to do it again, there are plenty of options to roll out to a point like they did, and send the various groups down different routes.

But then again, if everyone is on the same roads, the slowest group at the rear will pick up any stragglers along the way, whereas if they are all on different roads you might drop someone.

Drawback is once the fast group goes thru, the neighbors have another 60-70 bikes to throw rocks at...

Logistical nightmare but we have a year to figure it out...

One thing we do need to look at is getting the leaders/sweepers out and familiar with the routes beforehand... to cut down on the "poodle" factor..

sorry Joe!

That means anything over 70mph fellas. You should be keeping that to yourself anyhow.

Hey guys I had to work last night so I couldn't get on and post about the ride. First I had a great time as always on the rides put on by Joe, Matt, Kevin and the other leaders/sweepers. Sorry to hear about the guys that went down, but the rules about the pace were clearly spelled out, repeatedly. That said hopefully they will recover quickly and get back out there. Looking forward to the next ride with you guys.

I really enjoyed the ride. I also liked the way the huge number of riders was broken down into 3 groups. And I also think dividing the groups by riding levels was a great idea. I rode in the slower group 3 and from what I seen everyone was riding within their skill level. Usually from what I've experienced with group rides is that some people push their limits to keep up with faster riders. Which we all know can be dangerous. And I have been guilty of that in the past. And I learned the hard way to not leave your comfort zone. But that is another story. I just wanted to thank the leaders and sweepers for a good ride. You guys did a good job! We did have some go down but that happens in small groups as well. And my thanks goes out to the experienced guys that are willing to give advice rather than criticize "noobs" or "squids".

any news about the guy that was sent to the woodlands?

just curious

and a shoutout to joe because i've been riding my zx10 for over 2 years and have gotten very comfortable with it....but after spending the better part of the ride directly behind joe and noting his riding style I adjusted mine to a much more comfortable position and increased my corner speed by atleast 5% while still retaining the same comfort factor....thanks bro!
