How does one enforce "you can't go" on the ride? On the previous ride, I chewed the jacketless guy a new and his buddy lent him his jacket. He went down anyway. This time, Tiatool chewed major . What else can you do? It's a public road.

If you have any ideas on how to handle this situation, please advise.

You said it in the first sentence, "you can't go." If they sign up to ride with you guys fully knowing the rules put forth and then disobey them, tell them to get lost. I'd imagine that would work, I doubt too many people would care to ride w/ folks when they aren't welcome. Of course that's a bit extreme, but if you won't/can't turn people away for not following the rules; don't make rules.

PS: I like the picture of the guy in skate shoes, no helmet, no jacket

+1 if they can't follow the simple rule of wearing gear what makes anyone think they will follow safe following distance rules and speed rules?

First let me highlite the people who made all this possible:

Texlurch, man you mapped out a serious route. I appreciate the help, and we got to get together soon so you can lead me on the right direction.

Our fearless leaders and sweepers: Maxgs, Cdill, Onewheel, Hooli, Cali, Brooklynn Bullet, "J", Warpender, Kdub,Cobra281 and anyone else I may have missed (my apologies) You guys ROCK and we couldn't have gotten through it without yall. Super thanks you all are getting a cold one on me next time I see ya!!

The troops "over there" who we should all be taking our hats off to especially today. HAPPY JULY 4th.

Unfortunately all emergency services: EMS, TXDPS, Ect... who cared for our brothers who fell down.

Yankees staff who repeatedly put up with my t.

And anyone else I may have forgot you guys are super and I'm sure you will let me know I missed ya on the list.

Ok we had a great group meet on the northside. Thanks to all those who showed up on time, and waited for us who decided against riding the white line, and payed the toll. We made it to the NW meetspot right at 8 and HOLY there were alot of bikes. It has been posted 75, but at the spot someone said they counted 86. That is a FAWK load of bikes that showed up!! We had a complete pre ride meeting, where we went over rules, pace, groups, and route. We decided to split into 3 groups Fast, Intermediate, and Beginner. We all rode out 290 in one big group and it was HUGE!! That was fawking awesome looking back and seeing a sea of bike headlights. Thanks again everyone who showed up!!

At 362 we split off into our 3 groups. When we got to 1488, I missed the quick right and had to turn around. At that point I realized it was nearly impossible to turn 30 bikes around, so I made an executive decision, and went the way I know for sure. Plus it is embarresing to look like you don't know the way. SOOOOO, we took 1488 to 149 and followed it to the forest. YAAAY! At the forest we eased into a quick, but controlled pace. I ended up over the railroad tracks with only half my group, so I knew something was wrong. I sent the rest ahead to Anderson, and went back. About halfway through, I came up on flashing lights, and my stomach sank. Apparently a rider zigged when he should have zagged, and went off into the woods and kind of hit a tree. The update on his condition is: He is o.k. but his bike is not. That came from a medic at the hospital. (thanks to you know who for the quick info!!)

SO... We got to Anderson late, and some had moved on. THAT was the group that had another rider go down on 3090. I hope he is ok, but again his bike is not.

After that we ended up at Yankees and I got the partial report from Cali on his incidents. I will let him fill you in if he decides too. I cannot explain what I was not a part present to.

At Yankees we had a great time talking about the ride, and this and that. After everyone ate, we headed back with about 40 bikes in tow. At 3090 we split off 45 and 290 groups. Thanks Warpbender for taking the 290 group. Hope everything went well.

We had 0 incidents on the way home, but got rained on for just a bit. Other than that I had an amazing time, and will be doing it again real soon.

Sorry for the book, but happy reading!!

Back safely and a little wet.

It was a great ride today. Leadership was very organized and informed.

We have to make this an annual thing.
