And even a seasoned expert needs to treat 3090 with respect. There are enough weird turns on that road to catch you out if you don't.

I heard someone counted 75 bikes.. holy shiyat!!!!!

All you can do is ask people to admit their abilities and get in the right group.. but the beginner group needs to stay at posted or below speeds...
The "intermediate" group somehow ended up in teh forest, on the way there.

I try to keep my directions simple... like:

R (N) on 362
L (W) FM1488
quick R (N) on 1736...

simple is good!

I was fine when the directions were LEFT and RIGHT. But they switched to turn NORTH, West, etc. That's not so easy for poodles or me. It would also be nice to have the directions include mileage so you might be able to predict when the turn will arrive. I had to u turn the fast group around TWICE.

true.. I always map it out in Google maps so I have an idea of what it looks like... plus I've been on these roads enough I have an idea of where I am most the time anyhow. I have the turn by turn directions on my tank bag so I can just glance down and look for the next road.

This ride was mapped to have the turns at SS and intersections.. other than where 1736 jogs left, and 3090 runs into 149 there shouldn't have been any problem areas that I can think of.

So is someone getting the "I survived the 08 July 4th Ride" t-shirts done up or what?

we missed the "quick right" after the left then quick right. But it was all good, because if you miss the "quick right" there is nice road ahead. So we got to hit whatever that road was twice,

Ahh 1488 west.. good road other than the tar strips. Sorry!!!!

In my defence.. when Tiatool and I talked last week neither of us expected this size of turnout... I figured he could find his way anyhow...
