3 Moto-accidents

what is with all these motorcycle accidents...I was reading the Houston Chronicle online and just realized it...we need to be alert out there ppl

man was arrested and accused of drunken driving after being involved in a traffic accident that killed a motorcyclist in northwest Harris County early Sunday morning, authorities said.

Jesus Catacora, 51, was driving a 2002 Ford Mustang west in the outside lane in the18800 block of FM 529 around 1:40 a.m. as Jose Deluna was riding a 1999 Kawasaki ZX7R in the inside lane of the road, authorities said.

Deluna, who was not wearing a helmet, failed to stay in his lane while doing a wheelie, authorities said.

When the Kawasaki traveled into the outside lane of traffic, Catacora's Mustang struck the rear of the Kawasaki, throwing Deluna from the motorcycle, authorities said.

Deluna, whose age wasn't available Sunday, was taken to St. Katherine's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Catacora was arrested and charged with felony driving while intoxicated. He remains in Harris County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court today. Court records show that Catacora has been convicted at least three times in the past on DWI charges.

The case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff's Office traffic enforcement section.
.....

A man allegedly driving a stolen motorcycle was killed after he crashed into another vehicle and was thrown off the bike in northeast Harris County early this morning, authorities said.

Phillip Martinez, 20, was driving a 2001 Honda motorcycle north in the 14400 block of Bohemian Hall around 3 a.m. at a high speed when he attempted to pass another vehicle, authorities said.

He then struck the rear left of the vehicle and was thrown from the motorcycle, authorities said. Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene
.......
A man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a telephone pole in northwest Harris County Saturday night, authorities said.

Larry Odell, 60, was driving his 2002 Harley-Davidson Sportster west in the 700 block of Spring Cypress around 7:20 p.m. when he veered off the road, authorities said. Odell then struck a ditch and telephone pole before coming to a stop, authorities said.

He died at Ben Taub General Hospital. Officials aren't sure whether Odell was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

No further information was immediately available

Hmmm...riding a wheelie w/ no helmet? Darwinism.

Riding a stolen bike? GOOD, the F'er deserved it!

I hate to hear of anyone dying, but if you are dumb enough to not wear a helmet, I cant feel too sorry.

As for the 2nd.....ALL bike thiefs should die horrible, painful deaths with no mercy!

??? Not Sure ???

I know this might sound stupid, but why ride after 12am on a Sat or Fri thats when all the drunkies leave the bars-ish. When they see us on our bike they want to try and race or hate on us. I drive at them hours. Im not sying it only happends at those time but we as riders should be aware of the 4wheelers out there because they dont look out for us.

i agree 100%. as stated in another thread,i feel sorry for no one who is maimed or bites it in a motercycle accident(only if it's completely unavoidable). as stated in this thread,it was their own faults, well for sure 2 of them.
