Hello.

Referred here from Houston-Imports.com. Currently doing research on riding and sportbikes and will be taking an MSF course in July to start things off the right way.

Then purchase a 250R as a practice bike.

Hope to get great advice from everyone here.

Thanks everyone. I plan on purchasing the helmet, jacket, gloves, and riding shoes prior to purchasing the bike.

Not sure what to look for or purchase, but I'm sure it'll come along. I want to go all black on everything but all my riding will be done during night time. Wondering if that's a good idea or not.

As someone who rides in all wx, black disappears! Also, when you ride in light (and you will) - it is hot in SE Tx! Shop around and decide what fits you first, then look at colors. Also, if you want to color coordinate - bike first then gear... Good luck and I hope to see you out and about....

i have had a green kawasaki and now a black one. i loved my green one, but the black looks tough and also, i have alot of people ask me, what size is your bike. oldman650r has a red 650r kawasaki, he put checkers on his, red lights, and has it lowered with the 2 brothers and he also has the new decal on the back seat, wow, changed the whole look. it looks amazing. if you get one like ours, please don't put any saddle bags on it, get the pack that fits the gas tank, so much better looking, on the concours, the bags look good, but not on the ninja's like ours. just my opinion. can't wait to hear what you get.

Hey, hows it goin man. I think you taking the MSF class is a great idea. They go over some very useful strageties. I just took the class about 1.5 months ago and they gave me some great information. Classes taught strategies you wouldn't be used to so it does test riding skills and gives you practice. I've been riding for about a year and some of the stuff they taught was a bit of a challenge for me.

As far as the black, I gotta agree with CMA.ZOMBIE. Black does make you dissappear at night. Only thing you have for others to see you is your headlights and taillights. I would recommend having a lil color or at least something reflective on your body. Ride Safe and good luck with getting a bike soon.
