I have an 2006 R6 M4 Shorty GP Slip-on on my 05...its rather a slip-in than slip-on...and I did what pyro said basically...got a flat piece of wood with a hammer and banged it into the stock header, and bought 2 steal clamps from o'reiley's and clamped it down.

I wouldn't try stretching the inlet of the shorty pipe itself, it may bust....but its your money, i didn't want to risk it with a $220 pipe.

I put my hand around the pipe and it doesn't leak anywhere, but its extremely LOUD.

The 06 R6's have cats, the 05's dont...thats why they do not make shorty gp pipes for the 05's....as far as the extra bracket you can just cut it off, or just leave it there.
